Temple Bar Gallery + Studios launches the Event Programme for Dublin Art Book Fair 2026

20 October 2026

Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S) is delighted to announce this year's programme for Dublin Art Book Fair (DABF). It includes Guest Curator Nathan O'Donnell's programme of talks, alongside DABF's wider programme of book launches, workshops, panel discussions, and tours. All DABF events are free and booking is now open.

Nathan O'Donnell's theme takes the Colophon as a prompt to explore the collective and collaborative processes that underpin publishing. O'Donnell forefronts the relationships, various skill sets, processes and structures that are an integral part of producing a book — acknowledging this combination of labour and creativity that enriches an author’s writing. O’Donnell opens DABF with the Curator’s Talk introducing his theme through his nominated titles and those of his invited readers.

A Lettertexts Workshop at The National Print Museum invites participants to collaborate using letter press printing to make a collective experimental publication with Clare Bell, Megan Gerard O’Connell and Mary Plunkett. A panel titled Unshelving, hosted by O'Donnell and Susan Tomaselli, explores unfinished creative projects with writer Erica Van Horn and artist Suzanne Walsh. A second panel, Understructures, explores authorship and the politics of acknowledgement, citation, plagiarism, and documentary poetics with artist and writer JR Carpenter and poet Ellen Dillon.

DABF26 presents a rich ten-day programme of talks, tours, workshops, readings, book launches. Highlights include the launch of a new publication There's a Tunnel Under Ballybrit Business Park by Iarlaith Ní Fheorais, published by Askeaton Contemporary Arts, funded by Creative Europe Desk Ireland; a live podcast where Producing Strategies hosts Vaari Claffey and Francis Halsall discuss publication production with Nathan O’Donnell and artist and writer Sharon Kivland; ALSO editions presents three events: a workshop, reading and performance highlighting a line-up of artists who engage with publishing. Joanne Reid, winner of the Paul Robinson Studio Award, is DABF Commissioned Artist 2026. She is invited to create an artwork for the Fair, and at an open studio event, she presents and discusses the research behind the commission.

All tickets to DABF26 events are free. Tickets are limited and booking is essential.
