Artist to Artist

Peer Learning + Exchange

We create and facilitate occasions for studio artists, exhibiting artists, alumni and the wider community of new, emerging and established artists to gather and exchange ideas. These peer-learning and artist-led events include talks, screenings, performances, workshops, and open studios.

Expand your ideas of studio practice and explore the art-making process in a supportive space of shared learning and creative enquiry. This year, TBG+S Studio Artist Frank Sweeney is invited to lead Spring School, designing and facilitating four workshops under his chosen theme. No experience necessary, only an expressed interest in the Spring School theme is required.

Meet with exhibiting artists and expand your understanding of an artist's journey through the different stages of making an exhibition. This ongoing series of intimate artist-led talks and studio visits is designed for recent graduates, new and emerging contemporary artists and curators, and those returning to practice.

From Practice to Exhibition events are programmed to coincide with each Gallery exhibition. Visit What's On to find out more.

Explore different aspects of writing in relation to visual art. These sessions are led by an art writer or creative practitioner and are held in the Gallery after hours, responding to the current exhibition. The Young Art Writers programme is for anyone aged 18–25 with an interest in art and writing. No experience is necessary and all levels of writing ability are welcome.

We provide artists, curators and artist collectives with a space to test ideas, develop and present work through talks, screenings and performances. Free Space gives a platform to artistic research, experimentation, learning, and public presentation.
