The Traveller Collection Manual is a project to compile material relative to Traveller culture and history, to bring together disparate items, objects and activities which might contribute to a broader understanding of the problematics, and unique potentialities of critically diverse cultural frameworks.
The project seeks to open a dialogue around what an appropriate approach to integrating the narrative of Traveller History into the ‘National Project’ might look like. The project engages in a collaborative process of enquiry with cultural practitioners, activists and archivists in an exploration of contested histories to examine examine basic notions of representations in relation to Traveller culture and heritage.
The Traveller Collection Manual will be available at Dublin Art Book Fair 2021: Manual.
The Traveller Collection is a socially engaged commission with artist Seamus Nolan, Pavee Point, Traveller and Roma Centre, Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane, Create, The National Development Agency for Collaborative Arts and CAPP (Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme).

A visual arts showcase explores older migrants’ relationships with Dublin city with newly produced images made during a sound walking workshop, together with images from participants’ personal archives.
