Join us for a live performance by Rising Damp, as the closing event of Oh My Demigod at the Temple Bar Gallery + Studios Atrium.
Michelle Doyle/Rising Damp's soundscape, titled recording-20210818-204832, is a newly commissioned work created for the exhibition Oh My Demigod. This frenzied soundwork is played in stop/start bursts of perpetual rehearsal throughout the duration of the exhibition, and the event Rising Damp Live marks both the first performance of the work in its entirety and the closing event of Oh My Demigod. Rising Damp is an ongoing project by musician and sound artist Michelle Doyle, who will be joined by percussionist Sarah Grimes (September Girls and Grave Goods) and synth player Ivan Pawle (Fulacht Fiadh and Seadog) for the performance.
Michelle Doyle is an artist and musician whose work critiques technology, politics and innovation through new media. Doyle makes music as Rising Damp, joined by percussionist Sarah Grimes and synth player Ivan Pawle.
RGKSKSRG is the paired curatorial practice of Rachael Gilbourne and Kate Strain. Through linking with sites, communities and institutions, RGKSKSRG works to create new contexts for engaged encounters between artists and audiences.
