Jennifer Redmond, recipient of the TBG+S/MA:AP Graduate Residency Award 2015, is an artist based in Cork who recently completed an MA (Hons) in Art and Process at The Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork in 2014. This month-long residency allows one selected artist to work from a studio at TBG+S. Now approaching the end of her residency Jennifer will open her studio to the public.
Jennifer is interested in the process of transition from a Post Capitalist culture to a more sustainable way of living, the growing power of information, in technological systems and language of their conveyance. She looks at collaborative production that does not bow to market forces, in parallel currencies, cooperatives, and new forms of ownership, and at the shedding of selfhood where animal natural and human traits are interlaced in a social form. The Open Studio + Artist Presentation is a direct response to the above concerns.
