Further Information

Be a part of a collaborative Artist Book and be represented in the archival collection at the National Irish Visual Arts Library.

Join Ruth Hallihan from National Irish Visual Arts Library (NIVAL) to produce a collaborative Artist Book. Take inspiration from a selection of Artist Books from NIVAL's collection to draw, write a word or a sentence and create your own page that is included in a collective Artist Book. The pages will be bound together to make a Dublin Art Book Fair x NIVAL collaborative Artist Book. Once bound, you can visit NIVAL and see your page in the book, alongside your workshop collaborators’.

No experience is required and all materials are supplied. This is an adults only workshop.

The National Irish Visual Arts Library (NIVAL), is an initiative of National College of Art, (NCAD), in partnership with the Arts Council of Ireland. Since 1997, NIVAL has become the foremost centre for the documentation of contemporary art and design in Ireland and holds arguably the largest public-access artist book collection in Ireland. Assistant Manager, Ruth Hallinan, has spent fifteen years working in Irish publishing.

Event location information: This event will take place in a space accessible by lift and stairs with access to a semi-accessible bathroom on the ground floor. Dublin Art Book Fair (3–13 December 2026) is a centre for contemporary artist books offering a wide selection of artist publications and titles from creative, small and independent publishers, both Irish or international, to browse or buy. In conjunction with the Fair, DABF presents an programme of book launches, publishers talks, and workshops, offering ways to engage and gain insight into contemporary independent and arts publishing.

Dublin Art Book Fair 2026 is generously sponsored by our longstanding partner Henry J Lyons and supported by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature.
