The first tour spotlighting a selection of artist books at this year's Dublin Art Book Fair.
Anna Maye has managed the Artist Books at Dublin Art Book Fair (DABF) for over five years, offering great care and attention to the books and their makers. This has given her unique insight into the diversity and evolving themes and forms of the Artist Book. For the first of two Artist Book Spotlight Tours, Anna introduces a selection of the artist books, looking at the themes, design, concepts, how they came to be made, and the artists behind their production. Each year, TBG+S is continually impressed to see how artists continue to take on this form in innovative and surprising ways to exceptional standards. This year, 250 artists submitted to DABF with themes ranging from topics such as folklore, history, nature, and travel to name a few.
Anna Maye is the Gallery + Studio Coordinator at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios and manages the annual Artist Book Open Call and coordination of The Art Book Section at Dublin Art Book Fair. She is a practicing artist with a background in fine art printmaking and contemporary art theory. She was awarded Best in Show at Signal Open, Signal Art Centre, Bray (2025).
Event location information: This event takes place in a ground-floor, street-facing Gallery. The space contains tables of various heights displaying books. There may be limited movement for some. For further accessibility information please contact Learning + Public Engagement Curator Órla Goodwin.
Dublin Art Book Fair has become a central focus for the Artist Book in Ireland, and has witnessed a great evolution of this format through the annual Artist Book Open Call, representation through Small Presses and a programme of Artist Book related events. The Artist Book Section at DABF features books made by contemporary artists, designers, art writers, and others, who experiment in a myriad of ways with the medium of the book exploring its potential for artistic expression. In 2026, the Fair runs 3–13 December and all the books on display are available for the public to browse and buy if they wish.
Dublin Art Book Fair 2026 is generously sponsored by our longstanding partner Henry J Lyons and supported by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature.
