The first of two tours spotlighting a selection of the artist books at this year's Dublin Art Book Fair led by TBG+S Gallery + Studio Coordinator Anna Maye.
This event is free. Booking is essential.
Join TBG+S Gallery + Studio Coordinator Anna Maye for a short tour of a selection of this year's artist books at Dublin Art Book Fair (DABF). Anna will share her insight into the making behind the publications from the artist's perspectives while also discussing different narratives of the publications. The informal tour will spotlight a selection of submitted artist books and will touch upon themes such as subject matter, material, formatting and the approaches taken by artists in creating their publication.
This year, there were over 280 artist books submissions from Ireland and abroad. The artist book section at DABF features books made by contemporary artists, designers, art writers and others, who experiment in a myriad of ways with the medium of the book and its potential for artistic expression.
Anna Maye is the TBG+S Gallery + Studio Coordinator and has been working with DABF for three years. Her background is in fine art printmaking and contemporary art theory. She is responsible for the artist book submissions, and works very closely with the participating artists throughout the Fair.
Dublin Art Book Fair (DABF) is a offers unique artist publications and titles from creative, small and independent publishers, both Irish and international. Each year, DABF presents an extended programme of events and a curated selection of books nominated by the Guest Curator. DABF24 Guest Curator is Adrian Duncan, his theme is Fictions: The makings of other worlds.
DABF24 is proudly sponsored by Henry J Lyons and supported by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature and RTÉ Supporting The Arts.
