Family Workshop: Accordion book-making with Mandy O’Neill

15 July 2023, 12 – 1pm

Join TBG+S Studio Artist Mandy O’Neill to explore the TBG+S building and the changing surrounding cityscape through art, conversation and experimentation.

Begin with a visit to the artist’s studio to see how she looks at buildings and the surrounding urban landscape through art. You will then use photographs from a series of recent images of the Temple Bar area, made by the artist. Guided by the artist, construct your own accordion booklet which you may take home or add to the installation Concrete Conversation.

This is a family workshop, no experience is necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

To reserve a place for each child attending, please book in parent's or guardian's name. Parents and guardians do not need to book.

Mandy O’Neill is an Irish artist based in Dublin. Her practice, encompasses photography, print, installation, and public dialogue. Thematically her work is concerned with the everyday outcomes of political and ideological decision making, and the possible alternatives. Recent work employs expanded photography practice and the visual language of architecture to question the nature of building and development in the inner suburbs of Dublin, and in the city itself.
