TBG+S/HIAP International Residency Exchange

The TBG+S/HIAP International Residency Exchange supports Irish and Irish-based artists to spend three months in residency at HIAP - Helsinki International Artist Programme, in a live/work studio on the island of Suomenlinna in Helsinki. The Exchange supports Finnish artists to live in Dublin and work from a studio at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.

Since the partnership began in 2007, TBG+S and HIAP have supported over twenty artists and curators from Ireland and Finland. Now a well-established opportunity, the TBG+S/HIAP International Residency Exchange fosters opportunities for artists to gain experience, build networks internationally, engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue with the HIAP community, research and make work in a new context.

"The HIAP residency provided a supportive atmosphere in which to meet and exchange ideas with other artists and curators. It afforded time and resources to develop photographic and written aspects of my practice at the beginning of a new phase of work."
- Caroline Doolin, HIAP International Residency recipient 2018

The next open call for TBG+S/HIAP International Residency Exchange applications will be announced in early 2020. The application form and guidelines on how to apply will be available to download approximately one month prior to the deadline.

The TBG+S/HIAP International Residency Exchange is supported by the Finnish Institute in London.
