For Cruinniú na nÓg 2021, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios presents a virtual visit to artist Lynda Devenney's studio at TBG+S. See inside the artist’s studio, a place to imagine and experiment. Then, join the artist for a workshop and create together using your own body and materials found at home.
Lynda is joined by her children Nova and Antares O’Meara [Ages 10 + 7] to demonstrate the materials and processes used in the workshop. Lynda and her family will show you how to explore and experiment with making structures to extend the external and internal body, taking inspiration from her own work and the work of artist Rebecca Horn. We will start with drawing, painting or collage to generate plans and problem solve on how best to extend our bodies, thinking about action, space and feelings. Taking these plans, we will use basic materials to bring the drawings to reality. We will then have some fun and experiment in the kitchen to think about our internal bodies and the sounds we make internally.
By seeing and hearing directly from an artist in their studio, this workshop aims to inspire you to see creative possibilities in your everyday world!
An information pack detailing artists, materials and preparation will be available prior to the workshop.
This virtual studio visit and workshop will be released online on Saturday 12 June 2021 from 11am.
