One work, Many perspectives, is designed and facilitated by multi-disciplinary visual artist Rachel Fallon. Participants are invited to come together over four evening sessions to explore experimental approaches to object and meaning making.
Using found and supplied resources participants will create a variety of works, exploring ideas of materials, making, and installation. Experiment with the idea of the 'performative object’ and examine relationship building between the works and the viewer. Participants will learn about the thinking of artists such as Lygia Clark, Phyllida Barlow and Bobby Baker, and play with concepts of multiple voices and performance perspectives within an artists’ practice.
This programme is suitable for those who are starting out on their artistic journey, as well as more experienced artists/makers with an interest in seeing their work in new and collaborative relationships.
Each week will see a different activity, talk, discussion or workshop, facilitated by the artist and invited guests. The Spring School is an opportunity to expand your ideas of art practice, experiment with making art, learn with others within the TBG+S community.
Rachel Fallon uses sculpture, drawing, photography and performance techniques to deal with themes of patriarchal structures in domestic realms, and address women's relationships to society. She is currently researching the intersections between religious and military systems through the lens of female labour and gardening. Recent works include ‘Blown In’ as part of
