Panel discussion, chaired by Nicole Yip (LUX Scotland), with guest speakers, Sasha Litvintseva (UK/RUS) Yuri Pattison (IE/UK) Mark Toscano (USA) and James Kienitz Wilkins (USA).
The curated programmes for PLASTIK represent diverse focuses, but are linked by inherent ideas around technology and shifting attitudes towards materiality. This session provides an opportunity to expand on the tangible perspectives and outlooks that arise throughout the festival, as well as a chance to explore some of the specific curatorial outcomes of PLASTIK.
Panelists will be asked to reflect upon their own approaches, and to consider the relationship between research and public outcomes in context to each of their various artistic or curatorial practices.
PLASTIK Festival is a collaboration with LUX Artists’ Moving Image, and is presented in partnership with the Irish Film Institute, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios and IADT Dublin. The festival is made possible through the generous support of the Arts Council.
