Screening of two video works, Boston To Lambeth (Part I & II) and The Walls Within with Elva Mulchrone
Boston To Lambeth (Part I & II) examines two boroughs in the UK, through the perspective of children, which respectively voted overwhelmingly for and against Brexit.
The Walls Within is an examination of the struggle to stay afloat within ourselves and challenge boundaries, both external and internal. The artist, through the medium of movement plays a same-symetery game against herself. Supported by an Arts Council Agility Award.
Free Space at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios creates the opportunity for artists to access space in the city for peer learning, artist exchanges, project development and presentations.
The event runs in Studio 6 on April 8th 2022, from 6 - 7.30pm
Elva Mulchrone, an alumnus of TCD and NCAD lives and works in Dublin. She pursued an MA in painting at Royal College of Art London 2018-2020.
Solo shows include Res Ipsa Loquitur (Gibbons & Nicholas), Building Blocks at the Blyth Gallery, Imperial College London, (2020), and her debut solo show Irrational Exuberance with Eight Gallery, Dublin (2018). She has shown in numerous group exhibitions.
She has been awarded grants and bursaries including The Mainie Jellet travel Bursary, The Thomas Dammann Junior Memorial Trust Award, The Emerging Artist Bursary, DLR and an Agility Award from the Arts Council in 2021. Currently visual artist in residence at DCU her work is in the OPW and TCD collections and private collections.

A panel discussion in celebration of Bealtaine Festival brings together Sara Baume, Laura Fitzgerald, Geraldine O'Neill, and Pat Murphy to discuss a lifetime of making art and navigating life as an artist.

A visual arts showcase explores older migrants’ relationships with Dublin city with newly produced images made during a sound walking workshop, together with images from participants’ personal archives.
