Bealtaine | Improv Workshop with Michelle Read
28 May 2026, 11am–2pm
A fun and practical workshop with Dublin Comedy Improv founding member Michelle Read in celebration of Bealtaine Festival.
12 — 15 November 2024
TBG+S Studio Artist Ella Bertilsson hosts NAIL IT, a pop-up nail salon, through a hole in the wall of Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.
NAIL IT is supervised and orchestrated by Bertilsson's fictional character Inez, an amateur nail painter, who is currently in the process of learning the trade. She invites the public to get a nail design painted at her make-shift parlour at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. Just show up with at least one finger nail free from other treatments.
NAIL IT builds on Bertilsson’s playful, innovative and site-specific works, that uses unconventional spaces to foster participation and personal interaction through service.
This event runs Wednesday–Saturday, 13–16 November from 1–2pm, with an additional evening session on Friday and Saturday from 5–6pm. NAIL IT has not been quality tested! It will run rain or shine. First come, first served. No booking required.
Ella Bertilsson’s practice combines elements of sculpture, video, performance, drawing, painting, and sound into staged installations, as a form of enquiry into bizarre and quotidian experiences and events that shape our character and define our identity. Selected solo exhibitions include: The Horse, Dublin (2025); Ballina Art Centre, Mayo (2024); The Dock, Leitrim (2023-24); and The Complex, Dublin (2022).
Access and event information: Standard nail polish and nail stickers will be used and removal of pre-existing nail polish will not be possible. This is a free event where participants stand outside, placing their hands in a small opening in the wall between the Gallery window and Studio 1 for a nail treatment. Please note the opening is 130cm from the ground. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Contact TBG+S Learning + Public Engagement Curator Órla Goodwin for further access information.
