Temple Bar Gallery + Studios invites applications from visual artists for a new opportunity in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ireland, Dublin City Council and the Embassy of Ireland, France.

Temple Bar Gallery + Studios extends the closing date for submissions for the TBG+S and Bétonsalon Dublin/Paris Residency Exchange to Friday 5 June at 5pm.

This is a new annual award that supports a visual artist living or working in Dublin to spend time focusing on artistic research in Paris. The residency is hosted by Bétonsalon – centre for art and research, which is located within the Université Paris Cité. The organisation is one of the earliest organisations in France to recognise art’s position at the crossroads of various fields of research, linking artistic practices to their cultural contexts, and asserting feminist and decolonial positions. The exchange also supports French artists to live in Dublin and work from a studio at TBG+S.

The awarded artist will have time to develop research, engage with an international art scene, build professional networks, engage with a community of French and international resident artists, and visit museums, galleries and other cultural organisations in a major European city.

The residency takes place from 01 October–30 November 2026 and offers accommodation, a stipend of €5,000, and institutional support from Bétonsalon. The accommodation in Couvent des Récollets offers 40–60sqm furnished living space with an equipped kitchen area, sleeping area, bathroom, and desk space. Couvent des Récollets houses artists and researchers from multiple disciplines and is located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris and offers accommodation suitable for those with mobility needs which can be arranged once awarded the residency.

TBG+S is committed to the positive promotion of equality of opportunity for all visual artists applying regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, civic or family status, religion, age, disability, socio-economic background, race, or membership of the Travelling community. We welcome applications from practicing visual artists living or working in the Dublin City Council administrative area that are representative of the diversity of Irish society, including, but not limited to any of the characteristics outlined.
