Join TBG+S Studio Artist Tara Carroll and artist Eimear Murphy in a relaxed group chat about creating comfortable positions for our bodies in a gallery setting.
Creating soft sculptures using cushions, foam shapes the group will explore how our individual bodies would like to be positioned to support active engagement. Your unique body will inform the making of the sculptures and pace of the workshop. We want everyone to feel comfortable and choose how they would like to engage.
The workshop will inform the creation of sculptural seats that support different types of bodies to intimately engage with the art installation at Tara’s upcoming solo exhibition Resonances Ripples at Sirius Arts Centre, Cork in 2025.

Tara Carroll is multidisciplinary artist whose social practice rests upon the perception of the body, impacted by socio-political narratives; and its placement in individualistic society. During difficult times of embodied conflictions, their community supports them in creating new pathways of care.
Eimear Murphy believes that actively spending time with people and using materials together can make important artwork and ideas which help us to understand each other and the world we live in. Sometimes the artworks made from this are sculptures, sometimes they are drawings and sometimes there is no physical art made at all.
