Bealtaine | Improv Workshop with Michelle Read
28 May 2026, 11am–2pm
A fun and practical workshop with Dublin Comedy Improv founding member Michelle Read in celebration of Bealtaine Festival.
14 July 2023, 1–2pm
Take time to shift your attention to see and listen differently with visiting artist Marion Lachaise. Experiment with looking through drawing the scenes around you.
Work with artist Marion Lachaise to look at how to capture the unseen through drawing. Observe, listen and draw how people 'look' at each other both in the gallery, and between passersby through our own 'cinematic' street view of Temple Bar life. The intensity and characteristics of looks can be stronger than words. We will make 'instant' performative drawings that capture the interactions of the street scene, we will catch the looks to translate them into visual paths, forces, presences in the form of drawing (ink, charcoal, pencils), and painting.
All ages welcome, no experience is necessary.
Marion Lachaise is a French artist currently working in Temple Bar Gallery + Studios on a studio exchange. Through installation, she investigates the space between seeing and being seen, watching and being watched, judging and being judged, linking the body and the gaze of the viewer. Her more recent practice includes attending court hearings, using drawing as a tool to trace what is neither written nor said.
This event is part of Temple Bar Gallery + Studios Summer School programme. Click here to explore more events.
