Slow Look and Drawing Session: Nostalgism

22 June 2026, 11:30am

Further Information

Take time in the Gallery to explore the work and ideas behind artist Rebecca Moccia’s exhibition Nostalgism through slowing down, looking and drawing

Taking inspiration from the different ideas and mediums throughout the exhibition we will experiment with slow looking and listening and experimental drawing. We will create a mindful space in the Gallery to consider our sensory experience of the exhibition and what our personal understanding of nostalgia might mean for us.

Beginning with a brief introduction to the exhibition we will then take a breath and create a calm space in the Gallery to slowly explore what we see, what we hear and what we feel. Through line, mark making and the written word we will mind map our sensory experience. Participants will be free to draw and share as they wish.

This is an adult workshop and is suitable for anyone new to or curious about contemporary art. No experience necessary. Limited materials are supplied and you are welcome to bring your own.
