Can a website be an exhibition? How does a designer approach a book or a website project differently from an artist? When does the medium become the message?
These are all questions that visual artist Aisling McCoy and designer Mary Leonard will discuss in a conversation about the limitations and the opportunities of experiencing work in both physical and virtual spaces.
Aisling McCoy is a visual artist and architect. A recipient of a Project Studio at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios and the Arts Council of Ireland Next Generation Award, her work looks at how we inhabit and imagine place, and the role of both architecture and photography in constructing the ideal.
Mary Leonard is an award-winning multidisciplinary Creative Director based in London. Previously Design Lead at Google Creative Lab EMEA, Creative Lead for Depop and Design Director at Mother Design, she is currently the Creative Director of MRLD, as well as an Associate Lecturer at UAL, London.
This event takes place as part of Dublin Art Book Fair 2020: Design as an Attitude, sponsored by Henry J Lyons.
