The HeART of Gaza host a children's workshop encouraging exchange of art and creativity with the children of Gaza
This workshop is for children between 5 and 9 years of age. Children must be accompanied by parent/guardian.
Co-founder, Féile Butler, will provide some context to the HeART of Gaza project. Children will be guided, through prompts to connect with the art exhibited and with the artists themselves, paying attention to who these children are and what they are communicating to us. There will then be an opportunity make artwork in response. These pieces will be scanned and sent back to be exhibited in The Artists’ Tent where the Gaza art workshops are hosted.
Transcending physical and language barriers, this exchange lets the children in Gaza know that they are truly seen, heard and valued.
What started as a WhatsApp exchange of children’s art between friends Féile Butler in Sligo and Mohammed Timraz in central Gaza, has grown into the project HeART of Gaza. Via social media, the project quickly captured the imagination of solidarity groups around the world. There have been over 120 collaborative exhibitions to date, from Chicago to London, Berlin to Rome.
HeART of Gaza will be on display 17-20 July at Temple Bar Gallery+ Studios, coinciding with Summer School 2025.
Free event, booking essential as spaces are limited. Please book a space per child, parents/ guardians do not need to book. Confirmation of attendance will be requested closer to the time.
