DABF19 Public Talk: Montage and Metropolis

01 December 2019, 4pm

A talk by invited guest Martino Stierli (Chief Curator of Architecture and Design, Museum of Modern Art, New York) chaired by Dr Sabine Kriebel (UCC).

Montage has been hailed as one of the key structural principles of modernity. Central to new ideas about architecture, it affected explorations of urban space as well as innovative conceptions and representations of the city created by early 20th-century avant-garde before being appropriated by postmodernists like Rem Koolhaas.
