Artist Eleanor Duffin will lead a workshop that explores the creative potential of 2 part mould making and casting, with a starter focus on plaster moulding for wax pattern. The workshop is suitable for beginners or those hoping to refresh their skills. The duration of the workshop will be 3 hours and will be entirely practical with demonstrations throughout and supported by clear teaching resources. Participants will leave with a good understanding of their creative potential in relation to mould making and its applications.
Potential participants are asked to bring a series of simple objects for casting. Objects may not exceed dimensions of 8x8x8cm. They can be found objects or an object that you have modelled from clay, plastacine or ceramic.
About Eleanor Duffin:
Born in Wexford Ireland, Eleanor Duffin currently lives and works in Dublin. After graduating from Limerick School of Art and Design with a BA in Sculpture and Combined Media, she went on to complete a two year MA at the National College of Art and Design. She has exhibited most recently in Future 13, RHA (2013), More Often Lost Than Gained, Roscommon Arts Centre (2013), Whitewashing the Moon, Project Arts Centre, Dublin, Ireland (2012), PVA, Guesthouse, Cork, Ireland (2012), and Little Constellations, NUA Archive, The Republic of San Marino (ongoing). Eleanor has participated in many international residency programs including; Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, Australia, CERN, Geneva, Switzerland, SIM, Reykjavík, Iceland and Fire Station Studios, Dublin, Ireland.
