Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is pleased to host the launch of this attentive place, a new book published in connection with Caoimhe Kilfeather’s exhibition of the same name which took place at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios in 2014.
The book includes texts by John Hutchinson, Chris Clarke and Raymund Ryan, documentation of the exhibition at TBG+S as well as other artworks, photographs and drawings.
Each book (an edition of 400) is a unique edition – the covers and end leaves of each one are original cyanotype prints. Design by David Joyce.
Caoimhe Kilfeather was born in Dublin in 1979. She studied at the National College of Art Design (Dublin) and the Slade School of Fine Art (London).
Recent solo exhibitions include this attentive place, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, and Before it stirs the surface, Oonagh Young Gallery. She has participated in group shows including In The Line of Beauty, Irish Museum of Modern Art, What Lies Beneath, Green On Red Gallery, Into the light, Crawford Art Gallery and Space of the Present, Leipzig Kunstverein. Residencies include the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (Nebraska), Fire Station Artists Studios (Dublin) and she currently has a studio membership at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.
Her work has been purchased by a number of public and private collections including the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Office of Public Works, and the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. She lectures in Sculpture and Combined Media at the Limerick School of Art and Design.
