Book Launch + Conversation: ‘A Manual for Rematerialisation’

01 December 2021, 4pm @ Temple Bar Gallery + Studios

Join us for a discussion about innovative strategies to research the materiality of the past in specific sites using a ‘too fast, too soon’ method.

This discussion is held to mark the launch of a publication edited by Nathan O’Donnell of work by participants in the NCAD Creative Futures Academy immersive research module convened by Lisa Godson and Sarah Pierce in partnership with IMMA in September 2021 with guest tutors including the Otolith Group, Emily Jacir and Bik van der Pol. Participants from a range of fields including law, sound design, art practice, and architecture devised creative methodologies for researching the materiality of the past in relation to specific sites and to produce this publication.

The contributors to the publication are Jennie Taylor, Lynda Devenney, Joseph Young, Séamus Nolan, Frank Wasser, Amalie El Fallah, John Hussain Flindt, Paul Haas, Ruth Fletcher and Sharon Phelan. Nathan O’Donnell is a writer and researcher and co-edits Paper Visual Art, Sarah Pierce is an artist and lecturer in Visual Culture at NCAD, Lisa Godson is Programme Leader of the MA Design History and Material Culture at NCAD.

This event takes place as part of Dublin Art Book Fair 2021: Manual, sponsored by Henry J Lyons and supported by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature.
