An informal tour of Rebecca Moccia's exhibition Nostalgism, in celebration of Bealtaine Festival.
Join us for an introduction to Temple Bar Gallery + Studios including an informal conversation-based tour of the exhibition Nostalgism by artist Rebecca Moccia. The tour will conclude with an introduction to the photograph display created through a Bealtaine workshop with Éireann and I. This event is suitable for all who are new to or curious about contemporary art and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.
Rebecca Moccia’s new multidisciplinary project Nostalgism draws from personal experience of her own familial and geographic background in the city of Naples and the economic and class divide that exists between the north and south of Italy. Moccia investigates the construction of cultural identity as defined by social and political contexts locally and nationally.
Bealtaine is Ireland’s national festival celebrating the arts and ageing. The festival is run by Age & Opportunity, the national organisation working to enhance wellbeing for older people through participation in sport and physical activity, arts and creative engagement, personal development, community collaboration and active citizenship.
Event location Information: This event takes place in our ground-floor, street-facing Gallery with floor-based installation art, moving image and sound. The tour will conclude on second floor, accessible by lift. This is a standing event, seating provided upon request. For further accessibility information please contact Learning + Public Engagement Curator Órla Goodwin.
