Hosted by Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Art Walk is a free outdoor guided tour introducing contemporary art exhibitions in Temple Bar.
Join us for this month's Art Walk highlighting contemporary art in Dublin.
The walk will begin at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios with guest curator Katherine Murphy and artist Lauren Gault introducing their new exhibition 'Galalith', then moving next door for a tour of Black Church Print Studios, finishing with the Gallery of Photography for an introduction to PROTEST! Photography, Activism and Social Change in Ireland.
Galalith is the first solo exhibition in Ireland by artist Lauren Gault. This exhibition is an expanded staging of her sculptural installations, responding to Temple Bar Gallery + Studios internal gallery space and the building’s external, environmental context. The exhibition incorporates sunlight caught by a street facing solar panel, a threaded assemblage featuring unused galalith stock, recycled rubber safety surfacing, large scale suspended sculpture and a human/non human soundscape (solar controlled).
Black Church Print are an artist collective and one of the leading contemporary fine art print studios in Ireland.
The Gallery of Photography aims to support artists in archiving their artistic practice across the span of their careers, preserving their creative legacies for the future. PROTEST! Photography, Activism and Social Change in Ireland, looks at the vital role photography has played in recording and making visible the struggle for equality, diversity and inclusion in Ireland. Over recent decades we have witnessed unprecedented change with systemic inequalities challenged and, in some cases, overcome.
