Sean Fingleton is a landscape painter. He visualises nature through a palette of heightened colours. He emphasises felt experience, a subjective approach to reading the landscape. Painting intuitively with emotion channelled and communicated, Sean Fingleton articulates visual statements in paint, moments in being that cannot be expressed in words. He has a sculptural approach to the application of paint investing in physical vigour in building surfaces with the palette knife.

Sean Fingleton was born in Malin in County Donegal. He studied at University College Dublin, where he received a BA in English and Philosophy. He also studied art at Letterkenny RTC, and National College of Art and Design.
