Kevin Cosgrove
Kevin Cosgrove was born 1984, he graduated from National College of Art and Design, Dublin in 2007. His paintings often depict depopulated work spaces and relate to his philosophy on the value of work and manual know-how. Painting in oil and using a variety of different scales Cosgrove employs an even-handed yet painterly approach. Objects are described with a thoughtful appreciation for the language and tropes of historical painting. Light flooding into a workspace, casually laid tools on a work bench or discarded scraps of sandpaper all serve as the narrative. Cosgrove is represented by mother's tankstation.
Selected exhibitions include, solo presentations at Frieze Art Fair London 2012 and Art HK 2012, Hong Kong, both with mother's tankstation. Last, Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin 2012.
