The award was established in memory of Paul Robinson to support an emerging artist of talent and promise in developing their practice.

On Wednesday 10 September, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S) hosted the Robinson family and Arthur Cox LLP in an event that honoured Studio Artist Blaine O’Donnell, recipient of the Paul Robinson Studio Award 2025. The award was made in memory of the late Paul Robinson, a much-loved member of the Arthur Cox team and former TBG+S board member.

The evening brought together artists, colleagues, members of Paul’s family and friends to celebrate Blaine’s achievements and mark Paul’s lasting contribution to the arts. The event featured reflections on Paul’s support for emerging talent and his deep engagement with contemporary art, as well as a showcase of Blaine’s sculptural practice.

Blaine O’Donnell works primarily in sculpture and takes an experimental approach to the materials and debris of photography, architecture and geology, investigating the art object as a starting point for tracing networks of relationships between objects, humans and places.

Recent exhibitions include hinder/ further with Andreas Kindler von Knobloch at The Complex, Dublin, Two Photographs Away, curated by Aisling Dunne, at Ardgillan Gallery in Balbriggan, and Matters of Process at Leitrim Sculpture Centre. In 2024, Blaine received the EMERGENCE award from Wexford Arts Centre, where he will have a solo exhibition in June 2026.

The Paul Robinson Studio Award was established in 2024 and is proudly sponsored by leading law firm Arthur Cox LLP.
