Temple Bar Gallery + Studios announces Paul Robinson Studio Award

The award is created in the memory of Paul Robinson, a Partner and much loved member of the Arthur Cox team for over 20 years and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios Board Member, October, 2013 – November, 2017. He is warmly remembered with great fondness and respect for his many contributions to the organisation, support of the artists working here, and his engaging interest in contemporary art.

Paul Robinson Studio Award supports the recipient of a Project Studio Membership with a generous bursary of €7,000.

Paul Robinson Studio Award will support an emerging artist of talent and promise to develop and focus their artistic practice during their Project Studio Membership at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S). This award will be made to one artist each year for the next five years.

It offers:

• €7,000 artist bursary
  
• A high-quality large-scale studio with affordable, subsidised rent.
  
• Studio visits and mentorship with TBG+S Director Clíodhna Shaffrey and Programme Curator Michael Hill.
• Connection to curators in Ireland and internationally.
  
• Visibility and profiling through the TBG+S website and social media channels.
  
• Opportunities to participate in the TBG+S Learning + Public Engagement Programme.

Eligibility
All applicants for Project Studio 2023 Membership will be eligible for this award. Project Studio Membership is awarded to artists at an earlier point in their practice, who demonstrate talent and potential.

Selection
A panel comprising artistic and curatorial expertise including an international curator, TBG+S Director and Programme Curator, and a TBG+S Studio Artist will select the recipient of Paul Robinson Studio Award.

Paul Robinson Studio Award will be made to one of the successful applicants for Project Studio Membership. It will give consideration to an artist who shows exceptional promise, as well as taking into consideration an artist’s needs, and the impact of the award on their career.
