Ireland at Venice 2022: Open Call for Volunteer Exhibition Mediators

Ireland at Venice and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios are offering the opportunity for nine volunteer Exhibition Mediator positions for the Irish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2022.

Ireland at Venice 2022, the national representation of Ireland at the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia presents a new exhibition by artist Niamh O'Malley, curated by the Temple Bar Gallery + Studios Curatorial Team.

The Ireland at Venice team is seeking expressions of interest from individuals for the position of Volunteer Exhibition Mediators for the Irish Pavilion.

This opportunity is suitable for graduates and post-graduate students with a background in Fine Art, Visual Media or History of Art, and creative practitioners with knowledge of contemporary visual art.

Successful applicants will be invited to meet with Niamh O’Malley, the TBG+S Curatorial Team and the other mediators in advance of the exhibition to learn more about the project. Mediators will be trained and supported by the TBG+S Curatorial Team, Clíodhna Shaffrey and Michael Hill.

Assessment will be made on your ability to fulfil the role and your articulation of the benefits you will experience by spending time working at the Irish Pavilion during this major global exhibition.

Note: Each mediator received a fee equivalent to the current living wage in Ireland, quality accommodation in a central location, all travel costs, and a range of additional benefits and supports.
