We would like to reflect on moments that have made this year so enjoyable and take the opportunity to thank you for your support, participation and many contributions throughout the year.
Among the highlights of 2025 was Faigh Amach, a group exhibition with Ella Bertilsson, Kathy Tynan and Emily Waszak. The exhibition was an initiative by Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, in partnership with Southwark Park Galleries, London and Culture Ireland to support an artist in presenting their first international solo show. Emily Waszak was selected by SPG Director Judith Carlton and Deputy Director Charlotte Baker to exhibit at their Lake Gallery in Spring 2026. Dublin Art Book Fair, in partnership with our sponsors Henry J Lyons, was awarded the Irish Times Long Term Partnership Award at the Business to Arts Awards.
TBG+S welcomed thousands of visitors to the exhibitions: Fergus Feehily, Fortune House; Katarzyna Perlak, Better a bare foot than none, guest curated by Marysia Więckiewicz; Jorge Satorre, Did I say I miss you?; Ella Bertilsson, Kathy Tynan, Emily Waszak, Faigh Amach; Frank Sweeney, Go Ye Afar; and Dublin Art Book Fair | Flock guest curated by Dr. Selina Guinness.
Over thirty professional visual artists, from recent graduates to internationally recognised artists, were provided with a vital place to work in Dublin through high-quality and affordable studios offering one, three and six-year studio memberships. In 2025, twelve artists were awarded studio memberships: Ella Bertilsson, John Conway, Vanessa Donoso Lopez, Marie Farrington, Austin Hearne, Shane Malone-Murphy, Nina McGowan, Manar Mervat Al Shouha, Elinor O'Donovan, Blaine O’Donnell, Mandy O’Neill and Venus Patel.
Blaine O’Donnell was the recipient of the Paul Robinson Studio Award, sponsored by Arthur Cox LLP, and Rachel Enright-Murphy was awarded the TBG+S Recent Graduate Residency 2025. International residencies and exchanges in Helsinki, Dublin, Paris, and New York were undertaken by artists Cliodhna Timoney (IE), Yuijie Zhou (CN/FI), Lisa Freeman (IE/IRI), and Eva Richardson McCrea (IE).
TBG+S Commissioned Writer Gustav Parker Hibbett wrote beautiful new poems in response to the 2025 Gallery Programme.
The Learning + Public Engagement Programme continued to bring new and loyal audiences through a programme of artist talks, workshops, studio visits, and film screenings. Highlights include Spring School, an art programme focussing on filmmaking led by Frank Sweeney; Summer School with participating artists John Conway, Vanessa Donoso Lopez, and Clodagh Emoe; Flags: Guardians over the city, a public artwork by Samir Mahmood commissioned for Culture Night 2025, the continued success of Free Space, and many other conversations and workshops with artists.
Thank you to our partners and funders whose generous support makes our work possible: our principal funders The Arts Council of Ireland and Dublin City Council, and incredible long-term sponsors Henry J Lyons and leading law firm Arthur Cox LLP. Thank you to Sharon Barry and all the team from Culture Ireland; and Finnish Institute UK + Ireland, French Embassy Ireland and Dublin UNESCO City of Literature.
And finally, to our friends, supporters and creative partners who have helped to provide and sustain artists with necessary resources to develop ambitious and exciting new work. Thank you for your support in 2025 and we look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year.
TBG+S Team.
