As we approach the end of 2024, we reflect on the moments that have made this year so enjoyable and take the opportunity to thank you for your support, participation and many contributions throughout the year.
Among the many highlights over the year was Longest Way Round, Shortest Way Home, two ambitious off-site solo exhibitions by Yuri Pattison and Liliane Puthod at Dublin Port, July–October 2024.
TBG+S welcomed thousands of visitors to the exhibitions; Anne Ryan, Tugann an Torann; Lisa Freeman, Approx 1 Second of a Sweet Kiss; Yuri Pattison, dream sequence; Liliane Puthod, Beep Beep; Fergus Feehily, Fortune House; and the acclaimed Dublin Art Book Fair 2024, Fictions: The makings of other worlds curated by artist and writer Adrian Duncan.
Over thirty professional visual artists, from recent graduates to internationally recognised artists, were provided with a vital place to work in Dublin through high-quality and affordable studios offering studio membership for one, three and six years. The Learning + Public Engagement Programme continued to bring new and loyal audiences through a programme of artist talks, workshops, studio visits and film screenings. Highlights include Spring School, an art programme focussing on performing for the camera led by artist Austin Hearne; Summer School with participating artists Vanessa Daws, Samir Mahmood, Christopher McMullan, and Joanne Reid; Landmark as Witness, a public artwork by Jialin Long commissioned for Culture Night 2024, the continued success of Free Space, and many other conversations and workshops with artists.
The Artists' Fundraiser for Médecins sans Frontières in aid of Palestine and Lebanon raised €18,590. Thank you to Clodagh Emoe, Brian Fay, Fergus Feehily, Jesse Jones, Atsushi Kaga, Aileen Murphy, and Kathy Tynan, who each donated an artwork. The raffle has been drawn and the winners have been contacted. Thank you to everybody who supported the fundraiser and helped raise money for this important cause.
