TBG+S Writer 2017: Gavin Corbett - Essay #5 ‘Bogopolis’
Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is delighted to announce the fifth and final commissioned essay in the series by writer Gavin Corbett. The TBG+S Writing Commission aims to expand ideas around writing about art by inviting Irish authors to create a series of pieces inspired by the exhibitions at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. The series of short essays will be available online and in the gallery.
The essay, Bogopolis is written in response to the solo exhibition The Breath From Fertile Grounds by Otobong Nkanga. The Breath From Fertile Grounds is an installation of entirely new work emerging from a research visit to Dublin. Nkanga’s interests in architecture and the body, in landscapes, organic growth and exchanges are carefully combined in her different projects. This exhibition has been conceived as a “space of remains and revitalisation”. The exhibition continues until Saturday 10 February 2018. For more information on the exhibition please click here.
