14 — 21 April 2026, 6–7:30pm
A two-part art writing workshop led by poet Annemarie Ní Churreáin in response to Lucy Stein’s current exhibition Lunula
04 December 2021, 11am - 1.30pm. Meet at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios
Join James Horan on a drawing workshop of Temple Bar. Investigate the value of using drawings to explore ideas, designs and concepts, record architectural observations, and retain experiences of places.
The making of a drawing is in itself a journey, a journey to unplanned places where often new aspects of one’s own personality are uncovered. The sketchbook is the ever present silent companion, a sounding board which reflects the echo of one’s own thoughts and reverberations of conversations with oneself. This workshop will start you off with your own pocket sketchbook.
James' Horan's book THINKING ON PAPER is about the making of manual hand drawings and the importance, benefits and rewards resulting from maintaining pocket sketchbooks.
This event is curated by Miriam Fitzpatrick, Banbha McCann and Katie Cooper from Henry J Lyons. It takes place as part of Dublin Art Book Fair 2021: Manual, sponsored by Henry J Lyons and supported by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature.
