Making Connections

People + Art + Temple Bar

Making Connections offers an introduction to contemporary art through tours, workshops and events, designed for all audiences, especially those who are new to, or curious about, contemporary art. Explore, learn and create art together with artists and the TBG+S Team.

All events and workshops are free and available to book online. Visit What's On for further information on how to participate.

Enjoy a gallery experience with a difference. Each year, over four days, the Gallery is dedicated to artistic activity and conversation, with projects created by studio artists. Visitors are free to drop in for a look, make artwork, or book into one of the artist-led workshops.

This is a family friendly event; no experience is necessary.

This year, Summer School takes place 17–20 July 2025. To find out more or book a workshop, visit What's On approximately one month in advance.

Spend an afternoon discovering contemporary art in Dublin’s Cultural Quarter. Art Walk is a regular guided walking tour hosted by TBG+S. Our friendly team introduces the organisation and current exhibition. This is followed by a short stroll to neighbouring art organisations including Black Church Print Studios, Photo Museum Ireland and Project Arts Centre. This is a great introduction to the exhibitions and arts organisations of Temple Bar.

Art Walk takes place on a regular basis and is programmed to coincide with each Gallery exhibition. Visit What's On to find out more.

Experiment and take time to 'to see' through the act of drawing in the Gallery. With no intended outcome, these mindful drawing sessions take inspiration from themes within the exhibitions, and help form personal connection with the artworks. Beginning with a short introduction to the exhibition, you will then be free to draw—and share—if you wish! These workshops take place outside of opening hours in the Gallery. No experience necessary, materials are provided.

Drawing Sessions take place on a regular basis and are programmed to coincide with each Gallery exhibition. Visit What's On to find out more.

A temporary public art commission sees the extension of TBG+S into the city landscape. Created for Culture Night and on view for the week, the commission supports an invited artist who is new to our community to create a series of flags along Wellington Quay.

The conversation about the commission is extended on Culture Night, when visitors can drop in to TBG+S to participate in a workshop led by the commissioned artist.

Culture Night takes place 19 September 2025. Take a walk along Wellington Quay or drop by the Gallery on the night. For more info visit What's On approximately one month in advance.
