Rhona Byrne makes sculpture, spatial environments and context specific projects, events, drawings, objects, clothing, video and photographs. Her projects often invite social interaction, combining objects, performance and processes of participation that investigate the complex multi-dimensionality of physical and social space, embodiment and connectivity, place and affect.

Rhona Byrne is a graduate from NCAD BFA Sculpture. Recent residencies include FAAP Sao Paulo, Brazil ’18 and Gowanus Projects NYC 2019 and she is currently an artist in residence in UCD Parity Studios 20/21. Awards include Arts Council of Ireland Visual Arts Bursary, Arts Council of Ireland Project Award and Fingal County Council Visual Arts Bursary. Rhona Byrne's work is in the collection of The Irish Museum of Modern Art, The Arts Council of Ireland and Fingal County Council.
