Rhona makes sculpture, films, photographs, drawings, context specific installations, collaborative event-based projects and books. Her works explore the person-environment relationship and engages with the multi-dimensionality of experience and complex layers of physical, mental and social space. Her practise employs an interdisciplinary approach using a combination of media, some of which are sculptural installations and interventions and sometimes collaborating with diverse industries, groups and individuals. Site or context is usually the point of departure. She received a BFA in Sculpture from NCAD 1994. Rhona has been awarded several artists residencies,most recently the Gertrude Contemporary Art Space, Melbourne, Australia, The Mattress Factory Pittsburgh USA (exhibition), The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) (exhibition), ArdBia Berlin, The Firestation Artist Studios ( project),Dublin, Pepinieres, Haus de Architektur, Graz, Austria (exhibition). She has been commissioned and supported by Dublin City Council, Cork City Council, Culture Ireland, The Office of Public works and The Arts Council of Ireland; New Work Award 2008 and Visual Artists Bursary award in 2008 & 2011.
