  Studios Program

Temple Bar Gallery & Studios is one of Ireland’s leading contemporary art venues.
Centrally located in the cultural quarter of Temple Bar, TBG&S is a publicly funded, not-for-profit organisation, which hosts a high profile programme of Irish and international art. The gallery programme includes both established and emerging artists working in a wide range of media.  In 2007 the programme include artists Matt Stokes (UK), Philip Napier (IRE) and Mike Hogg (IRE), Zineb Sedira (FR), Mark Garry (IRE), Eoin McHugh (IRE), Risa Sato (JAP), Paul Nugent (IRE), Marjectica Potrč (Slovenia), and a group show by over ninety Irish and international artists.

Temple Bar Gallery & Studios was established by artists in 1983 in response to the increasing demands for affordable studio spaces in Dublin city centre, a move which proved to be crucial in consolidating Temple Bar’s cultural status. In the mid-1990's a new gallery and studio complex was custom-designed for the company by leading Irish architects McCullough/Mulvin. Today the building that houses TBG&S integrates a gallery with on-street access, an impressive atrium space and 30 artists’ studios. The use of these studios reflects the broad-ranging developments in contemporary practice with artists working in photography, video, sound, sculpture, print and painting all currently occupying studio here. The ethos of TBG&S is to provide support for Irish and International artists to make new work, take new directions and set new challenges in their practice. TBG&S is a welcoming place that aims to offer a broad range of experience to studio artists through engagement with the education/outreach programme, Open Studios events and other projects.
