Temple Bar Gallery + Studios announces five new three- year members for 2014/15

20 May 2014

Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is pleased to announce five new three-year studio members selected via an open call process.  The new artists’ members were awarded their studios by a selection panel, who met in May 2014.

In 2014, for the first time, TBG+S announced two separate open calls for applications – one for three year studio membership and, a second call for one-year project studio membership. The one-year project studio call will take place in October 2014.

Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is an artist-governed organisation. Three-year Membership Studios give the selected artists full membership status and voting rights at the AGM. TBG+S is pleased to welcome its five new members, who will become full voting members of the company and will contribute greatly to the diversity of Dublin’s city centre artistic community.

The five selected artists are: Aurelian Froment, Caoimhe Kilfeather, Vanessa Donosso Lopez, Neil Carroll and Dragana Jurisic. In addition, the panel decided to award a one year extension to John Byrne, who began his three year studio membership in 2011. Any three-year member who has not already been awarded a project studio in the past 9 years are eligible to apply for a one year extension at the end of their studio tenure.

This year, the selection panel for studio membership consisted of the following: Rayne Booth, (Programme Curator, TBG+S),  Cliodhna Shaffrey (Director, TBG+S), Gavin Wade (Director, East Side Projects, Birmingham), Sheena Barrett (Curator/Arts Officer at Dublin City Council) and Alan Butler (Artist and TBG+S board member).

TBG+S is pleased to be able to continue the tradition of working with artists at various stages of their artistic development. The quality of work and high level of activity of our new studio members will continue to ensure that TBG+S is the most vibrant and exciting community in which artists can work in Ireland. We are looking forward to supporting this new group of TBG+S studio members to make their work in 2014 to 2017.
