About Us

Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S) is a unique artists-studios’ organisation and gallery in Dublin city centre. We focus on contemporary art and have a national importance indeveloping the visual arts in Ireland. Through our 30 artists’ studios and our gallery programme, we facilitate and support professional artists to make new art work. We also offer a full programme of talks, events and education activities around our artists’ studios and gallery that engages our visitors and communities with artists and art-making.
Our gallery programme is currently devised by a Curatorial Panel elected by the artist members of TBG+S. The curators of the 2012/2013 gallery programme are Robert Armstrong (Artist, Rayne Booth (TBG+S), Isobel Harbison (Independent Curator), James Merrigan (Artist and Art Critic) Paul McAree (Artist and TBG+S Curator-in-residence) .
TBG+S is the only purpose-built gallery and artists' studios complex located in the heart of the Dublin city and is a nationally significant institution. For over a quarter of a century, we have been at the cornerstone of artistic activity in Ireland. There are 30 artists' studios to accommodate professional working artists and a significant, on-street gallery with a dynamic programme of curated exhibitions and live events.
TBG+S is funded largely through annual funding from the Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Council and smaller grants.
