Atrium Space | Showroom Tamsin Snow

28 September - 17 November 2018

Showroom is guided by research into such topics as modernist architecture, science fiction and cryogenics. The video is a montage composed largely of stock footage and juxtaposes existing free and bought architectural models with imagined and built virtual environments. The animation looks at the material structure of digital video and the technological possibilities of new media. The reality of artificial intelligence, suspended animation, and developments in synthetic biology, have sparked debate across disciplines. Showroom explores the question of morphological freedom and the possible impacts these technologies may have for our future selves.

Tamsin Snow currently holds a one-year project studio at TBG+S. Selected recent exhibitions include CrossSections Intervals, Kunsthalle Exnergasse WUK, Vienna; Resort, Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray; Dazed X Confused Emerging Artist Award, Royal Academy, London; Lobby Part I & II, Oonagh Young Gallery, Dublin; and Pavilion, Store, London.

The Atrium Space provides a project space for current TBG+S studio artists to exhibit their work, creating an active space outside of the studio to exhibit finished work or work in progress.
