Studio Seminars and Public Events

TBG+S engaging audiences 'behind the scenes' with artists' studios

Throughout the year, TBG+S will open up the artists’ studios for public talks, lectures, screenings, performances and open studios events.

The seminar series, Conversations on work, will foreground artists working in the studios in open discussions with curators, arts writers or peers about their work.  Participating studio artists have so far included Blackletter artists group, FAF artists’ group, Sonia Shiel, Linda Quinlan, Anne Maree Barry, John O’Connelll, Therry Rudin and Patricia Hurl, Sarah Browne and Gareth Kennedy, Anita Delaney, David Beattie, John Beattie, Fiona Reilly and Sofie Loscher.

TBG+S organises an annual Artists Studios Open Day when all of the thirty artists ands curators working here open their doors to welcome visitors.  Artists  and curators display new work and projects and engage visitors in conversations about the  ideas, media and materials that make-up their art.  We can facilitate tours of the artists' studios for large groups on these days by prior appointment.

TBG+S is founding partner and an organiser of VISIT Artists Open Studios 2006, 2008.  A third VISIT event is planned for Autumn 2011 so watch this space! .
